SHIELD Hotline of the NY City Bar Association
The SHIELD (Self-Help Information, Education and Legal Defense) hotline is a free advice hotline sponsored by the Bar Association for income-qualified callers. A phone call to the hotline connects you with a staff of knowledgeable referral counselors, who are attorneys and paralegals. SHIELD counselors will give free legal advice on a wide range of subjects, such as divorce, family law, immigration, bankruptcy, employment and landlord-tenant issues.
